According to the legend Rome was found the 21st April of 753 B.C. The Rome Classic Walking Tour has the aim to explain how the city changed from its foundation until the advent of the Baroque, that has the main examples in Rome architect during the 17th century.
The meeting point will be under the Palatine hill, one of the 7th hills where Rome was found and where is still possible to catch the first building of the ancient monarchy. Walking down to the Colosseum we will pass the most important triumphal arch of Rome that still exist, the Arch of Constantine. After the Arch the view will be delighted with the biggest amphitheater ever built: The Colosseum. The tour will continue along the beautiful Via dei Fori Imperiali, walking among the most important place for daily life in the republican and imperial era. The Foro ended with the Trajan's column, an important site where is possible to understand the meaning of propaganda in ancient Rome.
This point indicates a dividing line between the ancient city and the city of the ‘Popes’. The tour continues through Piazza Venezia; the astonishing fountain of Trevi, the best known fountain in the world due to the fantastic marbles statues and all the magnific histories and legends linked to the place; Piazza di Spagna, famous for ‘Roman Holiday’ steps and Piazza del Popolo. Once arrived at the last stop the tour will end at the metro stop of Flaminio, after visiting the masterpieces in the curch of Santa Maria del Popolo, where there are paintings made by renaissance and baroque artists such as Caravaggio, Raffaello, Bernini and Sebastiano del Piombo.
